چکیده

A course-based undergraduate research experience (CURE) using cell culture–based was developed to allow students test potential molecules for their ability prevent the host inflammatory response implantable biomaterials. This CURE utilized lab instruction in biology courses over a three-year period at two institutions and assessed modified student assessment of learning gains (SALG) survey rubric from Association American Colleges Universities (AAC&U). The SALG analysis showed enhanced essential “hard” skill sets attitudes important future career culture post–CURE participation. results both AAC&U assessments revealed four six most highly valued “soft” skills rated by US employers as hiring recent college graduates.
